Gender differences

I think this product looks like a terrific item that we desperately need in every bathroom in the house, but I have a feeling it would be tough to sell that idea to Jamie.

I might go as far as saying a music teacher needs to have access to audio in every room in the house. Right guys?

Day Out With Thomas

Today Evan, Nanny and I spent the morning in Baldwin City, KS with Thomas the Tank Engine. If you don't have a child -- most likely a boy -- under the age of 5 you might not appreciate or even know about Thomas.

If you've ever watched the show on TV you may wonder why anyone would ever watch it more than once in the age of computer animation and Pixar movies. (As a side note: do you think there's any way Disney could possibly promote Cars any more?)

Here are a few screenshots from the video I'm making for Evan to relive his Day Out with Thomas experience.

Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our anniversary by going to the Plaza for dinner. Jamie was even nice enough to let me visit the Apple store. She doesn't understand why we have to go there every time we go the Plaza. Everyone knows a compulsory visit to the Apple store is a must. Right? Could someone please explain this to her?

We dropped the boys off with Pop Pop and they spent the night. Today Pop Pop and I have a golf tournament -- a fund raiser for our school district music department -- under a rainy sky.

The best news of all is the fact that we won't have another garage sale for at least a year. As much as I like strangers coming to our house and turning their noses up at stuff we used to own, I guess I can wait another year for a sale.

The key to a long summer

I've discovered the key to a "summer that never ends." It's quite simple, and I know it will work because the past two days have seemed like two months. In order to achieve the never ending summer one only has to spend each day having a garage sale.

There's nothing like sitting outside in one spot for 8 hours keeping diligent watch over stuff that you don't even want anymore. The boredom is broken up only when someone offers you $0.25 for something you paid $50 for last year. Good times these garage sales. Did I mention I love garage sales?
